I encourage my students to work to towards music exams when appropriate, to reflect their hard work and progress, and so that they feel a sense of achievement. I usually recommend that students enter ABRSM Examinations, although I have prepared some students for TrinityGuildhall exams. All pupils are fully prepared in all aspects of the exam - aural tests and sight-reading aren't just something to do a few weeks before the exam, they are useful skills we need all of the time!

There are also a number of festivals and Eisteddfods in the local area, and students are encouraged to enter these as an opportunity to perform publicly.

I am happy to accompany pupils on the piano up to Grade 4 or 5, depending on the repertoire chosen. For higher grades, my husband Dury Loveridge can accompany candidates (by negotiation depending on repertoire), or I am happy to put you in touch with other professional accompanists in the local area.

I usually make bulk exam entries each term. Details on fees and advice for candidates and parents can be found on the ABRSM website, which also has public discussion forums for students, parents and teachers on all aspects of music and exams.
